protect Drinking water
in your neigHbourhood
With the introduction of Ontario’s Clean Water Act in 2006, property owners in Ontario need to be aware of their responsibilities to protect the quality and quantity of the province’s source water. This website is intended to provide a better understanding of the complex interaction between humans, the water cycle and how we impact our water resources.
Drinking Water Source Protection Plans are being developed in communities across Ontario. The key to the successful development of these Plans is the participation of the public and all stakeholders involved. For a truly effective Plan to be established, all views, including those of property owners, residents and businesses, must be considered. We look forward to your feedback and continuing participation in protecting our limited and finite water resources.
