Description: In this document, we set out an alternative vision of what environmental protection in this province should provide. It focuses on the fundamental role of the provincial government in the protection of public goods, such as public health and safety, clean air, water and land, the protection and conservation of biological diversity, and the ecologically sustainable management of natural resources. The environmental policy debate in Ontario must deal with these real environmental problems which we face as a society, and not just short-term economic concerns. |
