Our Work
Since 1970, CIELAP has established itself as one of a handful of Canadian organizations that have the competence, the resources and the capabilities to conduct research on environmental law and policy.

Through our work we aim to inform and guide the formulation of policy that affects the environment and sustainability. As an organization that focuses on policy rather than a specific issue, we seek to address emerging issues on various environmental topics and sustainability. We strive toward objective research that is relevant to all. Our work is balanced, competent and dependable. It encourages communication, cooperation, and collaboration among all stakeholders. In addition to research that guides policy, we conduct events that promote dialogue among groups and sectors through conferences and networking events.

We have 35 years experience in policy research. We have extensive networks among government, academia, unions, industry, community and faith groups.
